FOUNDERS

ROBERTO AND CELIA SANTOS
In 1991, Roberto and Celia, a Brazilian couple, arrived in Mozambique when the country was going through a civil war. Their mission was to show God’s love and be a helping hand in that nation. One day, as they were leaving the local hospital, they encountered a heartbreaking scene that changed their life. They found 3 siblings thrown in the rubbish bin unable to move due to the extreme malnutrition. That is when they felt the need to open an orphanage and take the siblings in. In 1994, the orphanage was inaugurated, and it was a home and a place of refuge for many children that lost their parents in the civil war. It was only in 2005 that Sow Mission was registered as a non-profit organization. Since then, Roberto and Celia have dedicated their lives to impact the next generation through love and hard work. They have changed many lives and have bettered communities as a whole.
